A-tisket, A-tasket. Yes, It’s a Big Yellow Basket!
Basket Company Constructs a Nominally Fitting Office Building
About 42 miles east of Columbus, Ohio, you will find the Worlds Largest Basket. It was built in 1997 and it is the home of the Longaberger Company that is known for manufacturing handcrafted maple wood baskets. In addition, they offer home and lifestyle products that include fabric accessories, pottery, specialty foods, and wrought iron.
Located in Newark Ohio, the Longaberger building is 160 times the size of a regular basket and is made with a huge amount of steel, buckets, and buckets of stucco, and wood that has been said to have been grown and even installed by the company, itself! Pretty impressive in my basketI mean, book!
The construction of this replica basket took two years and three months in the making. The two basket handles that are attached at the top of the building is made of copper and wooden rivets that weigh about 150 tons and have the ability to be heated during the chilly season to prevent ice damage.
For $85 you can buy a traditional basket from Longaberger that is structurally similar to this building; on the flip side, it took $30 million to construct the actual building! Not a cheap basket by any stretch.
