Crane rental costs may vary based on a number of factors, so you get the most accurate price by requesting a quote. Typically, small mobile cranes cost around $200 per day to rent, and larger ones can cost $1,000 per day. Large tower cranes can cost in the neighborhood of $15,000 a month.
Costs can depend on the type of crane, its lifting capacity, how long you’re renting, demand, and location. Additional costs may also be involved, such as charges for delivery for crawler cranes and on-site assembly for fixed models like tower cranes. Permits and other fees, such as disconnecting utility lines, may also be involved.
Cranes are capable of lifting up to 1,000 tons and more. Each crane is different, so its load capacity will depend on a variety of factors, including its lifting power and the total height it can reach.
The strongest mobile crane, an 8-cylinder diesel Liebherr, has a maximum load capacity of 1,200 tons and a 328-foot telescopic boom. The tallest tower crane, a Kroll K-10000, is 470 feet tall and has a maximum load capacity of 240 tons.
BigRentz crane capacities range from 2.5 tons to more than 400-plus tons.

Tower cranes have a reach that extends up to 265 feet or 80 meters—and taller if attached to a building since the building rises around the crane. Mobile cranes typically have a more limited reach than tower cranes.

Carry deck cranes are relatively small and designed with four wheels. They can rotate 360 degrees, making them portable and versatile. They are capable of moving and loading a variety of materials on job sites and come in sizes ranging from 2.5 tons to 30 tons.

Most operated all terrain cranes range in size from 100 tons all the way up to 400 tons or more. (A few are in the 10- to 99-ton range.) Typically not as mobile or nimble as carry deck cranes, these cranes are usually transported on large, heavy-duty rigs.
